How do I create and reuse a Fashion Model in Nightjar?

In Nightjar, a Fashion Model is a saved AI person you can select to wear, hold, or appear with a product. Choose a premade Fashion Model or create a custom one from 1 to 5 photos of the same person. Nightjar saves an identity card for reuse, so later product photographs can start from the same selected person without rebuilding their appearance from a description.

Choose a premade Fashion Model

Open Create and add the product you want to photograph. On mobile, open Generate > Create. Under Shot > Subject, choose With model, then open Model and select a card. The picker offers search, Age and Gender filters, and favorites to help you find the person again.

Selecting an existing Fashion Model does not create another identity card. The product-photo Generation still uses Credits according to its output settings.

Create a custom Fashion Model

Before uploading, make sure you have permission to use the source photos and, for a real person, to create and reuse their AI likeness. Access to Nightjar does not supply those rights; its Terms of Service prohibit content that infringes third-party intellectual-property, privacy, or publicity rights.

1. In the Model picker, choose Create New. You can also open Models in the desktop sidebar, or Studio > Models on mobile, and choose New model.
2. Enter a Name you will recognize later.
3. Choose the Age Range and Gender metadata for the person. The age choices are 18–25, 25–35, 35–45, 45–55, and 55+; Gender offers Female, Male, and Neutral.
4. Upload 1 to 5 source images of the same person. You need at least one image and a name before you can submit.
5. Choose Create Model. The button shows Creating Card... while Nightjar prepares the identity card.
6. When creation succeeds, select the new card in the Model picker to use it in your photograph. Creating the card does not automatically select it.

Custom Fashion Models belong to the Team, so other Team members can reuse the same saved person.

What does creating or editing a Fashion Model cost?

Creating a custom Fashion Model costs 1 Credit when the new identity card is saved. Replacing its source images also costs 1 Credit on success because Nightjar generates a replacement card. Changing only Name, Age Range, or Gender is free and does not redraw the person's appearance.

If card processing fails, its reserved Credit is released and the failed operation costs zero Credits. Check the error shown: insufficient Credits require an available Team balance, while unavailable source images need replacing or uploading again. A failed source replacement leaves the previous Fashion Model intact.

Once card creation or replacement has started, it cannot be canceled. Wait for its result before submitting the same work again.

Reuse the person with a different pose or product

For the next image, select the saved Fashion Model again and choose the product to photograph. The Fashion Model controls the identity reference; it does not lock the entire shot.

For Single shots, choose a Pose for body arrangement and a Camera Distance for the crop. Available distances depend on the Pose and product. A close-up of a ring may frame the hand and leave the face out of view. Photoshoot deliberately varies pose, angle, and crop across its set, so use Single shots when you want to choose those controls yourself.

If you want to reuse the surrounding shoot setup too, save a Recipe. It can retain the Fashion Model and photographic direction while you choose the next product separately. The collection workflow guide explains how to carry that setup across multiple products.

Review the resulting face, visible body, and garment details before using an image. A reusable identity reference helps continuity; it does not guarantee an exact likeness or predict clothing fit, size, or body measurements.

Edit or delete a custom Fashion Model

Open Models in the desktop sidebar, or Studio > Models on mobile, and use the card's Edit control. Adjust its metadata or remove and add source images, then choose Save Changes. Editing the age or gender label alone will not change the image. Source replacement keeps the same saved Fashion Model and replaces its card only when processing succeeds.

Use the card's Delete control to remove a custom Fashion Model from future use, then confirm Delete. Existing generated Assets keep their Fashion Model history, but the deleted Fashion Model cannot be restored through Nightjar. Premade cards do not offer these edit and delete controls. If a source replacement is still processing, wait for it to finish before editing or deleting that Fashion Model.
