How do I create and manage Products in Nightjar?

Open Products in Nightjar, choose New product → Manually, add a name and at least one photo, then select Create product. A saved Product keeps the photos and factual details of one item together, so your Team can select it for future Product Photography without finding and attaching the same loose photos again.

You can also start with New product → From a link to review details and photos retrieved from a public product page before saving.

Create a Product from your photos

Use one Product for one visually distinct sellable item. Keep different colorways or visibly different designs separate. Size-only options can share a Product when their imagery is identical.

1. Open Products, select New product, and choose Manually.
2. Enter a Name that your Team will recognize.
3. Use Upload for new photos or Library to select images already in Nightjar. Add at least one photo that clearly shows the item. Supporting detail, side, back, on-model, or lifestyle views can help explain features the main view does not show.
4. Choose Make main on the photo that best establishes the item's identity. The Main photo represents the Product in Nightjar and receives priority when you use it in Product Photography.
5. Add optional Description and Dimensions, then select Create product.

Keep the Description factual: material, color, shape, construction, and distinguishing features. For example, a bag description could say “Black pebbled leather, two short handles, silver zipper, rectangular base.” Put requests such as “photograph on a marble counter” in Custom Directions when creating an image.

Dimensions are real-world measurements, such as 34 × 26 × 11 cm. Do not enter image pixel dimensions or available sizes such as S–XL. Photos define the Product's visual identity; facts supplement that evidence.

Start from a public product link

Choose New product → From a link, paste the page address, and select Get product details. If Nightjar offers distinct visual variants, choose the one you want. Review the name, facts, photos, and Main photo in Review product, correct anything needed, then select Create product.

Only add photos you are authorized to use. The saved Product captures what you reviewed at that point; changes to the external page do not automatically update it. If Nightjar cannot retrieve suitable photos, create the Product manually with your own images. The product-page import guide covers variants and import errors in more detail.

Update details, photos, or the Main photo

Open the saved Product and select the pencil control labeled Edit product, or Manage beside Product photos. Both open the Product editor.

Change the name or factual details, add photos with Upload or Library, remove unwanted photos with their remove control, or choose Make main on another photo. Select Save changes when finished. The editor requires at least one remaining photo and only enables saving when something has changed.

Removing a photo from a Product leaves the image in Assets. The same image can help define several Products, and removing it from one does not remove it from the others. This is useful for a photograph showing two items together: each Product can reuse the image without creating a duplicate upload.

Use Search products... to find a Product by name or description. Sort by Newest, Oldest, or Name A–Z, and use the heart control to favorite Products your Team returns to often.

Reuse a Product and find its generated images

Select the saved Product in the Create tab when preparing Product Photography. Nightjar gives each selected Product's Main photo priority, then includes Additional Photos and other Product Photos as space allows. Saving more photos does not mean every photo guides every Generation. If one particular view matters for the next image, select it as an Additional Photo too.

Open the Product to see Product photos and Generated images together. Generated images remain associated with the Product that guided their creation even after you change its photo set.

To reuse a generated image as a Product Photo, first check that it accurately represents the real item. In the Product, select Manage → Library, choose that generated image, and confirm with Select images. Then select Save changes in the Product editor. The image can appear among Product photos while remaining in Generated images.

Delete a Product without deleting its images

Open the Product, select the trash control labeled Delete product, and confirm Delete product. Its photos stay in Assets, and its existing generated images are not deleted. The deleted Product itself cannot be restored through Nightjar.

Deleting an image from Assets is a different action: it removes that image from every Product using it. If it was a Product's final photo, that Product is deleted too. To stop using one photo as a reference while keeping the image, remove it through the Product editor and keep at least one other Product Photo.
