How do I use Upscale in Nightjar?

Open an image in Assets, choose Upscale, and select an available 2K or 4K target. Nightjar increases the image's long edge to 2048 or 4096 pixels while keeping its proportions. Use Upscale when an image already shows the product correctly and needs more resolution: the source and completed result stay in your Library, so you can enlarge an uploaded or generated image without transferring it to another tool.

How do I start an Upscale?

1. Open Assets and find the image you want to enlarge. If it is on your device, upload it first.
2. Open the image and choose Upscale. On desktop, you can also hover over its Asset card and choose Upscale directly.
3. In Upscale image, review the Now and After dimensions. Choose 2K or 4K when both are available. If only 4K is available, the confirmation button reads Upscale to 4K.
4. Check the Credit cost below the button, then select Upscale to 2K or Upscale to 4K.
5. Find the completed result in Assets → Images. Open it to check the output dimensions, compare it with the source, and download it when ready.

Upscale creates a new Asset; it does not overwrite the original. The Upscale dialog uses the source Asset's saved output format, such as JPEG, PNG or WebP, with JPEG as the fallback when no format is recorded. There is no format picker in this dialog.

What do 2K and 4K mean, and how much do they cost?

The target is the length of the image's longest side, not a fixed width and height or a doubling of every source image.

For example, a 1200 × 800 image projects to 4096 × 2731 pixels at 4K. Its landscape proportions stay the same; Upscale does not make it square. Choose the target that covers the dimensions you need after any planned crop. The dialog shows the projected size before you submit.

The cost depends on the selected target, not the starting image size. An Upscale that fails without producing an output has no final Credit charge.

Why is a target missing or unavailable?

Nightjar only offers targets larger than the source image's long edge:

• Below 2048 pixels, the dialog offers 2K and 4K.
• From 2048 to 4095 pixels, only 4K is available.
• At 4096 pixels or above, the dialog says Already at full resolution and has no Upscale button.

An image already meeting a target is not upscaled to that target and consumes no Credits for it.

Very small sources have a separate limit even when a target appears in the dialog. A single Upscale needs a source long edge of at least 512 pixels for 2K, or 1024 pixels for 4K. If your source is smaller, upload a larger original or choose the lower target if it is eligible. A small thumbnail may not contain enough product detail to make a useful larger image.

What should I check before using the result?

Nightjar's Upscale is designed to preserve the selected image's product content, including its colors, text, logos and structure. It works from that one Asset; it does not consult a Product's other photos or apply a Recipe.

Compare labels, logos, seams, patterns and edges with the source or a sharper photo of the real product before publishing. More pixels do not prove that an unreadable label or missing texture has been recovered accurately. If the source already has the wrong product detail, correct or replace it before upscaling.
