How do I create a Photoshoot in Nightjar?
3 min read
To create a Photoshoot in Nightjar, open Create, add your product subject, and choose Photoshoot under Output in Product Photography. Set the shared photographic direction and output settings, then select Create Photoshoot. Each request asks for a fixed four-image set; the charge is two Credits if at least one image completes, or zero if all fail.
Choose Nightjar's Photoshoot when you want a product gallery or mini-campaign with variety that feels like one shoot. The images share your subject, setting, Photography Style, and directions, while angles, framing, distance, poses, and detail emphasis can vary across the set.
1. Add your subject in Create
Open Create. On mobile, open Generate first.
Select a saved Product, add images under Additional photos, or use both. A Product groups the photos and factual details of one item for reuse; Additional photos lets you start with loose images without first saving a Product. The shot controls appear after you select a subject or apply a Recipe.
Nightjar uses up to five subject photos per request. Each selected Product's Main photo takes priority, followed by explicit Additional photos, then other Product Photos if space remains. Add an important detail view explicitly and leave room for it alongside the Main photos.
2. Select Photoshoot and choose the shared direction
Under Output, select Photoshoot. Then check the choices that guide the whole set:
- Subject: choose Product only or With model. With model exposes the Model selector for a reusable Fashion Model.
- Setting: leave Auto for Nightjar to choose the setting, use Color for a flat color, or use Scene to choose a Background. Transparent creates a cutout and requires PNG or WebP output.
- Look: choose a Photography Style to guide lighting, color treatment, mood, and camera feel.
- Custom Directions: add details that the selected controls do not express. For example: “Use a quiet tabletop setting with soft daylight and emphasize the bottle's textured glass.”
The example gives a shared direction; it does not prescribe four separate frames.
Photoshoot varies the camera decisions across the set, so fixed Framing, Shadow, Pose, and Camera Distance controls do not apply. They are hidden when Photoshoot is selected. Choose Single shots when you need those controls for a particular image; the Product Photography walkthrough explains both options. For more on that choice, see changing the camera angle in product photos.
3. Set the output and create the set
Choose the aspect ratio, resolution, and image format for the set. Photoshoot supports 1K or 2K images; 4K is unavailable. Choose JPEG, PNG, or WebP, with PNG or WebP required for Transparent. The image count stays fixed at four.
Use the output-settings guide if you need help choosing a format or ratio for the destination.
Review the two-Credit cost, then select Create Photoshoot. If some images fail and at least one completes, the full two-Credit set charge still applies; a partial set is not prorated. If none completes, the charge is zero.
Starting from an existing image
Open an uploaded or generated Asset in your Library and choose Create a photoshoot. Nightjar opens the same Product Photography form with that image added and Photoshoot selected.
Check the subject, setting, Photography Style, Custom Directions, and delivery settings before submitting. This shortcut starts a fresh setup with the selected image; it does not copy the original image's generation settings.
Review the images together
Compare the completed images with your source photos and with each other. Check product shape, color, labels, and defining details, then choose the images that add useful variety to the gallery.
Photoshoot is useful for expanding one direction into connected still images. It does not assign exact rotation steps or verify a surface absent from your references. Add real reference views when an important side or detail needs to appear accurately.
