How do I transfer lighting from one photo to another using AI?
Short answer: Upload a lighting reference and a target photo, then ask Nightjar to "apply the lighting from Image 1 to Image 2." Keep product color accuracy intact.
Do it in Nightjar (step‑by‑step)
- Open Studio → choose
Edit Images
. - Upload two images:
- Image 1: lighting you want (key/fill direction, softness, background glow)
- Image 2: the image to relight (product or fashion)
- In Special requests, type: "Transfer the lighting from image 1 to image 2. Match direction, softness, and shadow length; keep product/fabric colors accurate."
- Generate. Inspect shadows, highlights, and speculars at 100% zoom.
- Refine: "slightly softer fill," "reduce specular on glass," "warmer key," "clean white background."
Tips by category
- Metals/glass: control reflections—"limit harsh specular; keep crisp edges."
- Cosmetics: prioritize color—"preserve true packaging colors; subtle background light."
- Apparel: balance skin and garment—"natural skin tones; even key light across fabric."
Troubleshooting
- Shadows look detached: "increase contact shadow; align shadow angle with key."
- Colors shifted: "freeze product color; adjust environment only."
- Looks too dramatic for PDP: "neutralize contrast; retail‑clean look."
